Summit Fly Fishing - Colorado Fly Fishing
The fishing in Summit County and South Park is Fantastic right now. It is finally starting to dry out a bit and the rivers are clearing up. It is sight fishing season and let me tell you, it is AWESOME to find a fish and then catch it. The Blue River is still getting some mixed up water with the lake flowing through the glory hole as well as the bottom. Temps are inconsistant and making your presentation far more important, don't hesitate to change your flies up often. PMD's, BWO, small Caddis, and Stimulators are turning and catching fish right now. Look for shadows and slower spots for the fish to hold up. If the water temp comes up don't forget to toss flies in the riffle runs.... Brown trout will start to spawn in the next couple of weeks, so be on the look out for some lunkers.
KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE AFTERNOON THUNDER STORMS!!!! LIGHTNING CAN BE VERY UNPREDICTABLE / DANGEROUS.

You have just opened an opportunity for a special fly-fishing adventure customized just for you! We are here to make your vacation, conference, or business trip a lot more enjoyable and definitely more memorable. We are located on the 5 acre pond at the Keystone Resort in Keystone, Colorado. We are the only guide service permitted to take you on our local waters (the Snake River & Keystone Pond) that run through the resort. We specialize in teaching all levels of anglers and how to improve the skills necessary to have a less frustrating time when you are off fishing with friends or by yourself. We work on the basics of casting, knot tying, entomology, river topography. We help you understand the habitat of the trout. We also have access to most of the local waters that include, but are not limited to, the Blue, the Colorado, Williamsfork, Ten Mile, the South Platte, and the Arkansas Rivers. We hold river access permits with the Colorado Division of Wildlife, Bureau of Land Management, Parks and Recreation and US Forest Service.
We cater to all that are willing to learn with a 1 hour Intro to Fly Fishing clinic on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings 9-10 am. As well as Wednesday and Thursday evenings 5:30- 6:30 pm.(If you can't make one of these days we do offer this the rest of the week based on guide availability.) The clinic is open to all ages and abilities. The intro is free to customers with the coupon from the Passport to Adventure Coupon Book given to all guests when they check into their condo at Keystone. If you are not staying at the resort we would still love to have you join in for a nominal fee.
We offer Full Day Float and Wading Trips, Half Day Wade Trips, and a customized 3 hour lesson. We supply rod, reel, and waders with all of our trips at no extra cost. We are also holding a Fishing Derby Aug.14th for all kids under the age of 12. It's a great opportunity for the family to get together and for the kids to get a chance to hook into one of the 25 inch trout (that was the "Big Fish" in last years derby) in the pond. We do not supply any gear for this event so come prepared with your own tackle and fishing gear. Absolutely NO BAIT allowed! Barbless flies and lures only please.
